A steady, practical course to support you through the early weeks and months of motherhood, when everything is new and often quite intense. This is a collection of short, manageable videos you can dip into, covering baby massage, gentle movement for babies, simple ways of holding, burping and soothing, and some very basic postnatal yoga for you. The focus is on helping you feel a bit more at ease in your body, and a bit more familiar with your baby over time. Alongside the practical elements, there’s space for the transition into motherhood itself — the emotional shifts, the adjustment, the sense of things changing quickly and not always having time to catch up with it. Some people begin this in the final weeks of pregnancy, wanting a sense of familiarity before baby arrives. Others come to it once they’re home with their baby, especially in that window where getting out to a group still feels like too much, but there’s a pull towards having some guidance and support around them. I’ve been working with pregnancy and postnatal communities for over 15 years, as both a perinatal yoga teacher and a therapist specialising in perinatal mental health. This course gathers together the things that tend to be most useful in those early weeks — the small, everyday pieces that make things feel more manageable.
